Western experts are resigned to Iran charging tolls for ships sailing through the Strait of Hormuz, CNN reports.
Western analysts have concluded that the toll system causes far less economic damage than an all-out blockade of the strait
The Belgium-based stock-market Kpler argued in April that the case for paying the toll is "comparatively strong":
The Iranian toll mechanism has entered mainstream Western discourse and is increasingly seen as viable, as a fee of $2 million per tanker adds only around $1 to the price of a barrel of oil

Leaked documents expose extensive Russian missile shipments to Iran, codenamed "K10," despite official denials from the Kremlin. The hardware includes over 300 advanced air-to-air and air-to-ground units, such as the Kh-38 and R-73, intended to arm Tehran's incoming Su-35 fighter fleet.
These deliveries, scheduled through 2027, significantly bolster the Islamic Republic's aerial combat capabilities.

🇨🇳 China's famous travel blogger dog with the audience of 1.5 million subscribers was stolen and sold to a restaurant for $25 while its owner left for a short trip to Georgia, and the dog stayed with his parents.
Unknown criminals riding a scooter stole the dog and proceeded to sell it to a restaurant (where it was killed and cooked). Later, after urgently returning from his foreign trip, the owner found one of the thieves. However, because the Chinese law considers pets to be property, the thief told him that, at worst, he will only face a fine and couple weeks in prison, since the dog's retail price was so low.

US Treasury secretary Scott Bessent is weighing plans to use Iranian assets to pay for the rebuilding of Gulf countries hit by retaliation from Tehran, in a bid to limit the war’s fallout on American allies in the Middle East.
Bessent’s push comes after continued attacks on America’s closest allies in the Gulf, including Kuwait and Bahrain, prompted US forces to strike Iranian targets despite the fragile ceasefire between Washington and Tehran.
Relations between the US and its top Gulf allies have been strained by the extended conflict and de facto closure of the Strait of Hormuz, the vital waterway for oil and gas shipments in and out of the region.
“Treasury will utilise all tools available to allow Iranian assets to be made available to our Gulf allies to support rebuilding and repairs for any future damage caused by Iran,” a senior Trump administration official told the FT on Saturday.
The official added that Bessent had “directed his team to assess conditions among our Gulf allies and request comprehensive estimates of the costs associated with repairing damage Iran has inflicted since the start of the conflict”.
“Treasury will further consider whether Iranian assets could be used to support repairs for past damages,” said the official.
The idea of using Iran’s assets — including up to $100bn in frozen funds held across a range of countries overseas — to pay for rebuilding the Gulf comes as Iran and the US have debated whether to release some of that money back to Tehran as part of any peace deal.

🇱🇾 Libyans are protesting against illegal immigration.
Hundreds of locals stormed the UN refugee mission headquarters in Tripoli, demanding an end to the influx of sub-Saharan migrants using the country as a platform to head to Europe. The protesters utilized an earthen berm to effectively seal off access to the facility.
They chant, "Libya only for Libyans," and "No to intruders in our country, get them out."
The protest is centered on opposition to the resettlement of migrants within the country, a polarizing issue that has fueled ongoing local unrest.

Iran's IRGC:
🔺 In response to the extensive crime of the usurping Zionist regime in southern Lebanon and the mass killing and displacement of the oppressed people of the Tyre and Nabatieh regions, as well as other areas including the Dahieh of Beirut, the Ramat David Air Base — the origin of these aggressions — was targeted by ballistic missiles of the IRGC Aerospace Force.
🔺 Our acceptance of the ceasefire on April 8 was conditional on a halt to hostilities on all fronts; but as always, the US and the Zionist regime did not adhere to their commitment — they continued both their aggressions and crimes in Lebanon, and violated the ceasefire by repeatedly attacking the waters and Iranian vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, the Sea of Oman, and the Indian Ocean.
🔺 Tonight's operation was a warning. If aggressions are repeated, the responses will be more extensive and will encompass all US-Zionist targets in the region.
